What kind of businesses do you work with? Service-based and product-based businesses doing 7-8 figures annually. My clients are women who are changemakers, thought leaders and people making an impact.
I already have a bookkeeper and an accountant. Why would I need this too? Because they do a different job. Your bookkeeper records what already happened. Your accountant files it once a year. Neither one is sitting with you looking forward, telling you what your numbers mean, what's coming, and what to do about it. Shouldn't I just hire a full-time CFO? Maybe, eventually. When I was a teenager, my parents separated. My mom had never touched the household finances. Not once. And when she suddenly had to understand what they had, what they owed, what she could actually live on, it was too much. The not-knowing was so overwhelming that she went back. She chose a familiar kind of hard over a fog she couldn't see through.
I was fifteen, and I made a decision watching that happen. That was never going to be me. I was never going to let not understanding my own money make a decision for me.
That decision shaped my whole life. It's why I became a CPA. It's why, after more than twenty years in finance, I do the work I do now. And it's why I understand something most accountants don't say out loud. Money was never really about money. It's about freedom. It's about safety. It's about having options instead of being cornered by what you don't understand.
I read numbers the way some people read a room. I can usually tell you what your money is saying before the report catches up, where something's leaking, where you're stronger than you think, where a decision is about to cost you. Twenty years of doing this gave me that. It's not magic. It's pattern recognition, and it's the thing my clients say they didn't know they were missing until they had it.
